The exhibiton takes us back to the demonstration «We can’t breathe – Justice for George Floyd» in Oslo on 5 June 2020, and shows unfiltered voices behind the demonstration, original posters, photographs and videos.
More than 15,000 protesters reportedly participated in the demonstration «We can’t breathe – Justice for George Floyd» in Oslo on 5 June 2020. The Oslo-based organizations Africans Rising in Solidarity and Empowerment (ARISE) and the African Student Association UiO (ASA) arranged the largest Norwegian demonstration of the summer at Eidsvoll Square in front of Stortinget.
The exhibition «Your breath, your voice» grows out of a desire to present some of the unfiltered voices behind the demonstration. One purpose of the exhibition is to make visible the thoughts and feelings that motivated participants and organizers to act collectively, restarting a “new” old dialogue about racism and anti-racism in Norway.
